June 2024 Friendlies - USMNT 1-5 Colombia: There were certain problems with this game

In preparation for the 2024 Copa America, the USMNT faced Colombia in a friendly match. The final score was 5-1, with Colombia dominating the game.

The USA fielded a strong XI with Tim Weah, Christian Pulisic, Gio Reyna, and Folarin Balogun all starting.

Colombia lined up in a 4-1-3-1 formation with players from Europe, South America, and Colombia in their roster.

Colombia took an early lead as a blocked clearance fell to Jhon Arias who scored.

The USA struggled to create chances and lacked verticality in their play. Meanwhile, Colombia extended their lead with a spectacular bicycle kick goal by Rafael Borre.

Although the USA improved in the second half and scored through Tim Weah, they failed to capitalize on other opportunities.

Colombia continued to dominate and added more goals through Richard Rios, Jorge Carrascal, and Luis Sinisterra.

Despite some substitutions and a change in tactics by the USMNT, they were unable to mount a comeback.

The final score of 5-1 reflected the dominance of Colombia throughout the match.
