USMNT to face Uruguay, Panama, Bolivia in Copa América group stage


The 2024 Copa América groups have been determined, and the USMNT got a ____ draw. Before a packed crowd this evening at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, the 2024 Copa América draw took place, and teams learned who they would face in the group stage of the tournament when it begins in June.

The USMNT, as hosts and the top ranked team in Concacaf according to the FIFA rankings, joined reigning Copa América and World Cup champions Argentina, reigning Gold Cup champions Mexico, and Brazil as seeded teams. It had already been predetermined that the USMNT would be in Group C, and the draw gave us the other teams that will compete against each other in the group stage.

The USMNT will open up group play on June 23rd against Bolivia, with that match taking place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. They will then head to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on June 27th to take on Panama. They wrap up the group stage at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on July 1st, where they will take the field to play Uruguay.

The USMNT, should they win Group C, would play in Las Vegas in a quarterfinal against the runner-up from Group D. If they finish 2nd in Group C, it’s off to Phoenix to play the quarterfinal against the Group D winner. Group D consists of Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, and Jamaica.
