USMNT U-20’s Defeat Cuba to Secure Quarterfinal Spot and Remain Undefeated

USMNT U-20's blank Cuba to stay unbeaten to seal quarterfinal berth

The U.S. Under-20 men’s national team secured their second consecutive victory at the CONCACAF U-20 Championship.

Four players scored for Michael Nsien’s squad as they defeated Cuba 4-0 in the group stage. Ethan Kohler and Xavier Gozo found the back of the net in the first half, while Taha Habroune and Marcos Zambrano scored in the second half.

Kohler opened the scoring for the USMNT U-20’s in the 15th minute, redirecting Niko Tsakiris’ free kick past the goalkeeper. Gozo then doubled the lead before halftime with a well-placed shot into the near corner.

Habroune capitalized on a blocked free kick to extend the lead, while Zambrano sealed the victory with a goal in stoppage time.

Next up, the USMNT U-20’s will face Costa Rica in their final group stage match on Thursday.
