In one of the early clashes, Manchester United secured a narrow 1-0 victory at Atlético Madrid, despite playing with ten players after Dominique Jansen was sent off in the first half. In a dramatic finish, Bayern Munich clinched a 2-1 win over Juventus, with Lea Schüle scoring the decisive goal deep into injury time, at the 95th minute.
