Vasilije Micic, the EuroLeague standout who made his NBA debut with the Oklahoma City Thunder this season, shed light on his transition to the league.
After a stint with the Thunder that saw limited playing time, Micic was traded to the Charlotte Hornets, where he found a more prominent role.
Reflecting on his adaptation to the NBA, Micic emphasizes the importance of consistency and adaptability on the court.
In a recent interview with Cyro Asseo de Choch of HoopsHype, Micic candidly discussed the stark contrast he observed in the NBA regarding passing mentality, compared to his experiences in European basketball.
Micic elaborated on his observations, stating, “In the long run, I realized that consistency on the court for me is something that creates a difference… I like to mix. And now, in the NBA, since I realized that nobody wants to pass, I feel that there’s room for me to adjust myself to the game because I think it’s still necessary to pass the ball.”
While acknowledging the scoring-oriented nature of many NBA players, Micic underscored his belief in the significance of ball movement and sharing the basketball.
Drawing inspiration from NBA stars like Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic, renowned for their exceptional passing abilities, Micic aims to integrate his style of play into the NBA landscape.
The Serbian guard finished the season averaging 10.8 points and 6.2 assists in 27.2 minutes per game for the Hornets.
