Venezia in contract talks with Tanner Tessmann amid Bologna, Torino interest

Tanner Tessmann is set for his return to Serie A next season and reportedly could have a new contract to go with it.

Venezia is in talks with Tessmann over extending his contract past June 2025, TuttoMercato reported. The news comes amid growing interest from fellow Serie A sides Torino and Bologna in Tessmann’s services.

Tessmann joined Venezia in July 2021 and recently helping the club earn promotion back to Italy’s top flight. A 1-0 aggregate victory over Cremonese helped Tessmann, Gianluca Busio, and Co. clinch the last promotion spot out of Serie B this past season.

The 22-year-old midfielder was sensational for Venezia, scoring seven goals and adding three assists in 42 combined appearances. Tessmann’s next competitive appearance for the club will be his 100th in Venezia colors.

He is currently with the U.S. Olympic Team ahead of a June 11 friendly vs. Japan in Kansas City. Tessmann is pushing to be part of Marko Mitrovic’s final roster for the trip to Paris, France this summer.

Bologna’s fifth-place finish in Serie A last season clinched them a spot in the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League while Torino finished ninth in the league table.
