Veteran assistant coach Steve Hetzel joins Nets coaching staff

TalkBasket

The Brooklyn Nets have added experienced assistant coach Steve Hetzel to Jordi Fernandez’s new coaching staff in Brooklyn, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Hetzel recently worked as an assistant coach with the Portland Trail Blazers for three seasons under Chauncey Billups. Prior to his time in Portland, he was on the coaching staff with Steve Clifford in both Charlotte (2014-18) and Orlando (2018-21).

Notably, Hetzel previously held the head coaching position for the Canton Charge in the G League during the 2013/14 season. Fernandez was an assistant on his staff during that time and later became the head coach for the Charge in the following two seasons.
