During the 2022 NFL season, the New York Giants were one of the surprise teams in the league as they were able to defy the odds under new head coach Brian Daboll and clinch a spot in the NFL playoffs as well as pull off the upset against the Minnesota Vikings.

Although the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles got the best of them in the postseason, the Giants seemed to prove they were a team on the rise in the NFC with a bright future ahead.

Unfortunately for New York, the 2023 campaign was completely different, as the Giants failed to live up to expectations and ultimately missed the playoffs while being one of the most disappointing teams in the league.

As if the end of the 2023 NFL season wasn’t bad enough for the Giants, New York saw superstar running back Saquon Barkley sign with the Eagles this offseason, which was a major blow and not a great look for the storied franchise.

However, the team must move forward and they continued to do that on Wednesday with the team announcing on Twitter that they’ve signed veteran cornerback David Long Jr.

The signing of Long is by no means a game-changer for the Giants as he has bounced around the league quite a bit, especially during last season, where he was part of three NFL franchises, including the Las Vegas Raiders, Green Bay Packers, and Carolina Panthers.

Long spent the first four years of his NFL playing career with the Los Angeles Rams before he began bouncing around the NFL.
