Video: Qarabag player attempts high five with Anthony Taylor and gets sent off

It really wasn’t Qarabag’s night in the Europa League on Thursday, with English referee Anthony Taylor even sending off a player that was attempting to high five him.

In the end, the minnows lost 3-2 to Bayer Leverkusen, but Xabi Alonso’s side were in huge danger of losing their unbeaten record.

They’d gone into injury-time at the end of the game 2-1 down, despite Qarabag playing for half an hour with 10 men.

That was because Elvin Cafarguliyev had his yellow card rescinded – prompting the player’s gesture – before Taylor brandished the red.

Patrik Schick’s injury-time double then saw Leverkusen go on to win the match.
