Heading into Sunday’s AFC Championship Game, the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs were the underdogs on the road for the first time in Patrick Mahomes’s era.

The Baltimore Ravens and superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson were thought to be good enough on both sides of the football to potentially give the Chiefs all they could handle on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.

Although some have considered this a down year for the Chiefs due to their lack of explosiveness in the passing game, the team is right back where they want to be after beating the top-seeded Ravens to advance to the Super Bowl for the second straight year.

In classic Nick Wright fashion, the diehard Chiefs fan had quite the reaction to his team beating the Ravens, as he predicted, to advance to the big game in Las Vegas, Nevada, via First Things First.

On Monday, Wright will almost certainly have a smile from ear to ear as he will likely be ecstatic about the chance his beloved Chiefs could win back-to-back Super Bowls, especially after being doubted all season long.

The only question now is who the Chiefs will be playing in the big game on February 11, with the 49ers currently struggling to keep up with the red-hot Lions.

If the 49ers advance, San Francisco could be the favorite to win it, but if the Lions advance, which looks like at this point in time, they’ll likely be the underdogs against the defending champions.
