Video Shows Wild Texans Locker Room Celebration After Win

In his first year as the franchise’s head coach, few people expected DeMeco Ryans to lead the Houston Texans to the playoffs this season.

But after getting a big 23-19 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, Ryans and the Texans were able to clinch a spot in the postseason for the first time since 2019.

Unsurprisingly, Houston’s locker room was a giant celebration after Saturday’s playoff-clinching victory over the Colts (via Houston Texans on Twitter)

It’s hard not to be happy for Ryans and what he has been able to help the Texans accomplish in his first season as the team’s head coach.

After picking rookie C.J. Stroud to be their Week 1 starting quarterback, many expected Houston to have a season that was filled with plenty of struggles.

Instead, Stroud has put together one of the best single-season performances by a rookie quarterback in NFL history, and he has played a large role in the Texans being able to quickly turn things around.

Combine this with Ryans taking the defense from the bottom of the NFL in 2022 and turning them into a top-15 unit this season, and it has resulted in Houston getting the opportunity to play extra football for the first time in a long time.

More excitement could also be on the way for the Texans on Sunday as they could clinch the AFC South title if the Jacksonville Jaguars lose or tie in their Week 18 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

If this happens, then Ryans and Houston will get the opportunity to begin their journey in the 2023 playoffs inside their home stadium.
