West Ham United Pass on Signing Manchester United Midfielder Scott McTominay, Reports Man United News and Transfer Rumors

Coventry City players left shocked by poor Man United star who looked like he was "playing indoor football with his buddies" - Man United News And Transfer News

It is imperative that INEOS reinforce throughout the squad after the dismal last season Manchester United endured. But with the club having to operate on an initial meagre budget, player sales will be required to supplement that figure.

Joshua Zirkzee was officially announced on Sunday while the club is also eyeing as many as three centre-backs — Matthijs de Ligt of Bayern Munich, Lille’s Leny Yoro, and Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite.

The club also needs more than one midfielder and also a left-back, and loan additions are also being considered due to the budgetary restrictions.

One player who could fetch a major sum, all of which would be counted as pure profit, is Scott McTominay, who enjoyed a fine personal campaign and emerged as the clutch player for the Red Devils.

McTominay’s future

His goalscoring displays have meant the Red Devils have slapped a £40 million price tag on him with multiple English and Turkish teams eyeing the Scotland international.

However, West Ham news site Claret and Hugh claims sources from within the club have told them that currently they are not planning a swoop for the United academy graduate.

Last season, then-Hammers boss David Moyes wanted to sign both the Scot and Harry Maguire but United did not agree to the fee.

Despite the former United manager leaving the club, West Ham’s interest remained as per multiple reports but now it seems they have moved on due to the valuation and also because they feel that United has no interest in parting ways with the 27-year-old.

“Recent reports linking Manchester United and Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay with a move to West Ham may be nothing more than idle speculation.

West Ham not in the race

“Even if the Hammers were to hold an interest in McTominay, his £40 million valuation mentioned by United would be completely prohibitive.

“Although cryptically, C&H have been told by a West Ham source within the last hour that it’s unlikely Man United would sell the player who the club insider described as a ‘good player’.”

As previously relayed by The Peoples Person, the 20-time English league champions are not in a hurry to decide McTominay’s future with plenty of players ahead of him on the list of those that the club is looking to sell.

The Scottish star definitely impressed Erik ten Hag last season and he might only be moved on in case of an extraordinary bid.
