Weston McKennie ruled out of Juventus-Lazio match due to muscle fatigue

Report: Weston McKennie to miss Juventus-Lazio showdown due to muscle fatigue

Weston McKennie did not feature for the U.S. men’s national team this month and will reportedly not return to Juventus’ starting lineup this weekend.

McKennie will not play in Juventus’ upcoming Serie A clash with Lazio due to muscle fatigue, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Tuesday. The 26-year-old was originally called into Mauricio Pochettino’s USMNT squad before heading back to Turin following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Panama.

Despite missing this weekend’s crucial Serie A match, McKennie is expected to be available for the Bianconeri’s UEFA Champions League showdown with Stuttgart next week. Juventus will also face Inter Milan in Serie A play the following weekend.

McKennie has scored one goal in six combined appearances for Thiago Motta’s squad this season.

Juventus sits third in Serie A and remains the only unbeaten team left in the league.
