Min Woo Lee might be the form player on the pro tours heading into 2024 and is quickly becoming a popular Major pick.
Min’s bag is dominated by Callaway clubs, with a few notable exceptions, and his main equipment sponsor must be delighted with how he is playing right now and how well he is being received.
Third at the Australian Open, Min has seemingly made it his mission to play to the crowd at every available opportunity – and given how they have reacted, you cannot blame him at all.
Before we look at what Min has in his bag, we should deliver the usual bag analysis warning: while there are exceptions, the equipment used by professionals isn’t always the best choice for the average golfer.
Off the tee, Min usually favours his Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond driver and uses the 10.5-degree loft version of the popular club. This club has a compact 450cc head shape designed for better players who want to work the ball.
At the last inspection, Min did not have a 5-wood or 7-wood in his bag, with the Australian content with his Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond 3-wood to cover his fairway driver needs.
With his irons, Min leans on the Apex MB range from his 4-iron through to his pitching wedge.
He covers his lack of fairway drivers by using the remarkable Callaway X Forged UT 2-iron, which offers terrific distance and dead straight hitting. This club is a great weapon in the hands of someone like Min, but the average golfer should pick it up with caution as it is not the most forgiving iron on the market.
When it comes to wedges, Min uses the Callaway Jaws MD5 50 degree, but just like many pros he strays from his sponsors’ gear and has a pair of Titleist wedges that he can turn to in tricky short-game situations. He uses the Titleist Vokey Design SM9 56-08M and also a WedgeWorks 60T.
His Odyssey Tri Hot 5K Double Wide putter is technically a blade putter but it has many of the benefits of a mallet.
The balls that pros use are an often overlooked element to their game and Min uses one of the best available in the Callaway Chrome Soft X.
At this stage it is unclear who supplied Min with his chef’s hats, but we are looking into it.
