Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway will headline the UFC 308 card this weekend, with the UFC Featherweight Championship belt on the line for the winner.
Topuria, the current belt holder, enters Saturday night’s fight as the favorite against Holloway. The Spanish fighter remains undefeated in his UFC career and is defending his title for the first time.
‘El Matador’ was last seen at UFC 298, where he delivered a commanding performance against Alexander Volkanovski, securing a knockout victory in the second round.
Holloway presents a similar challenge to Volkanovski, as another UFC veteran aiming to dethrone the undefeated champion Topuria.
Holloway’s most recent fight was at UFC 300 in April, where his victory over Justin Gaethje earned him the BMF champion title.
The 32-year-old defeated Gaethje with what many consider the best knockout in UFC history, delivering a flurry of punches in the final round, culminating in a knockout blow with just one second remaining on the clock.
While Holloway gained numerous fans with his win over Gaethje, Topuria poses a younger and more skilled challenge that could prove to be a serious obstacle.
