Who will win Roland Garros 2024 on the Men’s Side?

For tennis fans, there is no more important event than one of the Grand Slam tournaments. In the 2024 season, one such competition – the Australian Open – has already died down, and brought a sensation: Novak Djokovic, who always felt like a duck to water in Australia, did not even reach the final, losing in the semi-final match to the future winner in the person of Jannik Sinner. It’s all the more interesting to watch how events will develop further!

Roland Garros 2024 is scheduled for dates from May 20 to June 9. The main competition of the clay season, according to tradition, will bring together all (or almost all – no one canceled injuries at the last moment) of the best tennis players and will attract millions of fans to the screens. If you like wagering on tennis and other sports, go to Mostbet BD app download, we will try to estimate the chances of the favorites, based on the current estimates of bookmakers.

Carlos Alcaraz – 2.5

Here it is: Serbian Akella still holds the lead in the ATP singles rankings, but young wolf cubs are already ready to replace him. At least, the 20-year-old Spaniard, who will be 21 by that time, is considered the main favorite for the title in France.

At such a young age, the rising tennis star can already boast of two Grand Slam trophies: in 2022, Carlos won the US Open, and in 2023, Wimbledon. He has not yet reached the semifinals at Roland Garros, and then only once (in the previous draw). However, now is the time to take a step forward, because the once great trio of tennis players are finally ready to give way to the young ones.

At the first Grand Slam tournament of this year, Alcaraz was eliminated early – he lost to Zverev in the quarterfinals. Oddly enough, Australia is the most difficult for the Spaniard – this quarter-final match is his best achievement on the Green Continent, so you shouldn’t think that there is something wrong with his form. He is still second in the ATP rankings, but Djokovic is running out. After that same US Open, Carlos has already been first, and will probably want to repeat the achievement.

Novak Djokovic – 3.25

The legendary Serb will turn 37 years old during the tournament – not the limit for a tennis player, but it is obvious that various health problems can already affect the reaction speed. Again, the risk of injury increases. At a minimum, this is why Djokovic, who is still very dangerous for any opponent, is no longer the main favorite of the tournament.

Allow us not to list all the numerous Grand Slam trophies in the Serbian’s career – we will only note that there are 24 of them in total. Novak won all the majors several times, but it was the French Open less often than others – “only” three times. There is a counter-argument in his favor – but Djokovic managed to win the previous Roland Garros, proving that he is not that old.

Djokovic won the Australian Open ten times, but this year he was stunned by the Italian Sinner in the semifinals, who eventually took the title. Despite this, Novak still leads the ATP singles rankings. Probably, the Serb understands that it will only be more difficult in the future, therefore, being healthy, he simply must fight for trophies now, while he still has the strength.

Rafael Nadal – 5.0

And this is not so much an amazing tennis player, who was so loved by millions of fans around the world, but a big name left from him. Like Djokovic, the Spaniard will turn 37 during Roland Garros, but injuries have almost finished him off. He missed almost the entire last season, and he called this one probably the last of his career, so it’s not a fact that Rafa will actually make it to France.

However, bookmakers are still taking wagers on him as the third most likely winner. Provided there are no health problems, this is truly a formidable force – it’s not for nothing that he won as many as 22 Grand Slam trophies during his career. Unlike Novak, his “favorite” tournament is precisely Roland Garros: here he became the champion a shocking 14 times, including the year before last (he did not participate in the past due to injury).

Due to his long absence, we will not discuss Rafa’s rating – it does not reflect the strength of this tennis player at all. The Spaniard did not take part in this year’s Australian Open. Honestly, if he doesn’t win this Roland Garros (which won’t be a big sensation), we can gradually say that he won’t win the Grand Slam trophy anymore, and it’s time to call it a day.

Jannik Sinner – 5.5

The 22-year-old Italian was not considered a star of the first magnitude until this year, when he managed to take the first Grand Slam trophy in his career – at the Australian Open. Despite this achievement, he still remains fourth in the ATP singles rankings, behind not only Djokovic, but also Alcaraz, and even Medvedev. But appetite, as they say, comes with eating!

What speaks against Yannick is that his results at the French Open are not impressive – he only reached the quarterfinals once, and that was back in 2020. But he hasn’t won the Australian Open before, so everything is in his hands – especially if one of the more obvious favorites (heavy hint to Nadal) doesn’t make it to the tournament.

Our forecast

If we believed in a fairy tale, we would say that Nadal will return and once again show everyone how to play tennis in France. For the rest, we need to monitor Novak’s health and success: if he approaches the tournament in good shape, then he will become triumphant, and if not, then Alcaraz.
