On Thursday, the New York Yankees suffered a heartbreaking loss in game three of the American League Championship Series.

The Yankees held a two-run lead heading into the bottom of the ninth inning, but they gave up a two-run home run in the ninth to tie the game and a two-run home run in the tenth to lose.

Yankees closer Luke Weaver gave up the home run in the ninth while Clay Holmes gave up the walk-off home run in the tenth.

Ahead of game four on Friday, the Yankees made a roster move on their ALCS roster.

According to Bryan Hoch on ‘X,’ Yankees reliever Mark Leiter Jr. has replaced reliever Ian Hamilton on the ALCS roster.

Hamilton came in to pitch the sixth inning of game three when he appeared to tweak his calf while covering first base.

After throwing only seven pitches in the appearance, Hamilton was forced to leave the game after allowing one earned run and one walk.

Leiter Jr. will replace Hamilton on the ALCS roster after appearing in 21 games during the regular season.

The 21 games for Leiter Jr. included a 4.98 earned run average and 33 strikeouts in 21.2 innings pitched.

Game four will take place on Friday as the Yankees look to bounce back from the tragic loss on Thursday.

The Yankees still hold a two-to-one series lead over the Guardians after the loss.

Luis Gil will take the mound for the Yankees in game four and he will take on Gavin Williams of the Guardians.
