Zverev Advances in Halle After Comeback Victory against Fils

Alexander Zverev faced some issues but overcame them to beat Arthur Fils in three sets and book a place in the semi-final of the 2024 Halle Open.

The German player faced tough competition from Fils in this match, but managed to emerge victorious. Zverev has been returning to Halle for a few years now, despite not having the best grass record.

Despite his qualities, Zverev hasn’t always performed well on grass, but his performance this year at Halle has been exceptional, earning him a spot in the ATP 500 tournament quarter-finals.

The first set was tightly contested with Fils taking the opening set in a tie-break. The Frenchman applied pressure and managed to take the set 7-5.

In the second set, Zverev dominated on his serve, breaking Fils to win the set 6-3 and force a decider.

The third set was competitive with both players holding serve until Zverev converted break chances at 3-3 to take a lead. With strong serving, Zverev completed a comeback to win the match 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4 and advance to the 2024 Halle Open semi-finals.
