Alcaraz Pulls Out of Wimbledon Amid Ongoing Wrist Injury Concerns

Carlos Alcaraz has officially announced his withdrawal from Wimbledon, a decision stemming from ongoing concerns regarding a right-wrist injury he sustained back in Barcelona earlier this season. This injury has plagued the second-ranked Spanish player, interrupting his participation in several key clay-court events.

After only one match in Barcelona, Alcaraz was compelled to miss high-stakes competitions in Madrid and Rome, which are critical stops on the ATP Tour. His recent announcement confirms that he will also miss the Queen’s Club tournament, effectively sidelining him for the entire grass-court season. This unfortunate turn of events is particularly disappointing for Alcaraz, who captured the Wimbledon title in both 2023 and 2024 before falling short in a hard-fought final against Jannik Sinner in 2025.

In a message shared on social media, the 23-year-old expressed optimism about his recovery process, stating, “My recovery is going well and I feel much better, but unfortunately I’m still not ready to be able to play, and that’s why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing at Queen’s and Wimbledon. They are two really special tournaments for me and I’ll miss them a lot. We keep working to return as soon as possible!”

Alcaraz, recognized for his exceptional talent, has been a formidable presence on the ATP Tour, recently earning titles through five-set finals during his previous Roland Garros campaigns, defeating top competitors such as Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner in 2024 and 2025. As the tennis world awaits his return, fans and analysts alike can only hope to see the young star back in action sooner rather than later.
