England boss Gareth Southgate “not liked” by some within Man United in major boost to Erik ten Hag – Man United News And Transfer News

England manager Gareth Southgate is reportedly not liked by a section of insiders within Manchester United, who believe that Erik ten Hag should be afforded more time to overturn the situation.

United have had a dreary season and are firmly on track to finish outside the top four.

The Red Devils were knocked out of the Champions League and Carabao Cup in humiliating fashion earlier in the campaign and as it stands, the FA Cup represents the club’s only chance of lifting silverware and restoring some pride.

Amidst the team’s poor results and performances, it has been suggested that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS could part ways with Ten Hag and make a managerial change.

Some of the names United have been linked with so far include Zinedine Zidane, Graham Potter, Julian Nagelsmann, Thomas Frank, Carlo Ancelotti, Ruben Amorim, Roberto De Zerbi, Thiago Motta and of course, Southgate.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Southgate is Ratcliffe’s number one target to replace Ten Hag.

It was stated that the England boss enjoys support from ex-United players and some of the current stars who play for the Three Lions.

UtdDistrict have given a huge update on the situation and have exclusively reported that Southgate does not necessarily retain the massive approval and resounding endorsement fans may have been led to believe.

“Although reports state that Southgate is INEOS’s preferred choice, this is not a view shared by all within Old Trafford. UtdDistrict understands that despite rumours of Gareth Southgate being high on INEOS’ potential manager list, the England manager is not liked by some within the club – this does not include those related to INEOS.”

“Those not in favour of Southgate still back Ten Hag to succeed at United. However, if there was a managerial change, Brighton’s Roberto de Zerbi has fans within Old Trafford.”

UtdDistrict add that Ten Hag has “substantial backing” from various quarters within United. Multiple individuals are understood to be of the opinion that the Dutchman can still come good and prove his worth. This group is apparently advocating for Ten Hag to remain in the Old Trafford dugout even if the 20-time English champions miss out on Champions League football.

The report further states, “Insiders reveal that Ten Hag enjoys robust support from the United dressing room. Players have expressed confidence in his ability to effect positive change at Old Trafford and get the team back on track after a wayward series of results.”

Ten Hag is currently involved in the club’s plans for the summer transfer window despite the uncertainty surrounding his long-term future at United.

United return to action on Saturday when they face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
