Lacroix’s Final Appearance for Crystal Palace Ahead of Expected Transfer
Maxence Lacroix is poised to leave Crystal Palace this summer, with today marking his final Premier League match for the club. The French defender is set to feature against Arsenal at Selhurst Park as the season comes to a close.
According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, a transfer for the 26-year-old is in the works, with several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Chelsea, reportedly interested in acquiring his services.
Hawkins has indicated that there have been no discussions regarding extending Lacroix’s contract with Palace. As he prepares for his last game in front of the home fans, Lacroix is also set to participate in the upcoming Europa Conference League final, representing the Eagles.
“Maxence Lacroix is set to play his final match at Selhurst Park today against Arsenal,” Hawkins stated on his official social media account. “A transfer for the Crystal Palace center-back is planned. There are no talks with the Eagles for a contract extension, and numerous Premier League clubs are watching the 26-year-old French international.”
What Lies Ahead for Maxence Lacroix?
Lacroix’s impressive performances at Crystal Palace are likely to attract significant interest. Liverpool seems to be a potential destination, given their need for a new central defender. He could serve as a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, who is aging, and with Ibrahima Konaté’s contract nearing its end, the club may be looking to bolster their defense.
With a transfer anticipated, it remains to be seen whether other clubs will enter the race for Lacroix’s signature as well.
