The London Lions will be looking to bounce back after suffering just their second defeat in the British Basketball League with a win over the Leicester Riders.
Meanwhile the Leicester Riders will be looking to avenge their Playoff Final defeat from last season, as well as the tough loss they suffered to the Lions earlier this month.
London know that they cannot afford another loss in the League if they are to keep their pursuers at bay, after suffering a surprising 102-80 loss to the Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles last week.
Leicester, on the other hand, are just two wins away from the top four and know that a win against the League leaders will go a long way in their push for home court advantage in the Playoffs.
Playoff Final repeat
The two sides met in last year’s Playoff Final, where the Lions came out victorious.
Although the Londoners are firmly on top of this season’s standings, the same cannot be said for their opponents who seem to be struggling in seventh place.
London have been in unstoppable form domestically with a record of 14 wins and two losses.
They are doing well in Europe where they currently sit second in their EuroCup group only behind Paris.
Despite their dominance though, they are not unbeatable, as proven by the Eagles’ last game.
The Riders on the other hand ended a three-game loss streak with their win against the Manchester Giants.
They will now be looking to push on from that result in their quest for a top four spot.
High-scoring game
This matchup is projected to be an offensive feast as it includes the two highest-scoring teams in the League.
The Lions average a League-leading 93.4 points on average, while their opponents are just behind them on 91.1 points.
Matt Morgan leads all scorers with an average of 20.5 points per game, settling in brilliantly with his new team.
Jaren Holmes leads the Riders in scoring with 14.1 points on average, with four others also averaging double digits – Kimbal Mackenzie, Miryne Thomas, Xavier Pinson and Caleb Asberry.
The two sides are in the top three for best three-point percentage, so expect this game to be a shootout.
London lead the way with 38.9% on average, tied with the Sheffield Sharks.
Leicester are right behind them with 38.4% on average.
While the Riders may not be where they were last season yet, expect this to be a good game, giving the seemingly unstoppable Lions a tough challenge.
