The Philadelphia Phillies have been labeled as a “postseason team” in the last couple of seasons.

It means that perhaps they didn’t quite have the most impressive regular-season runs, but they managed to make some noise in the playoffs and reached the World Series in 2022 and the League Championship Series last year.

Well, the 2024 Phillies want to be even better: they want to complete a spectacular regular season in addition to being playoff contenders.

So far, they are on the right path as they are off to a historic start, according to MLB Network.

The 2024 Phillies are 19-10, but one of those wins came in March.

They still have another game left in April, so they can get to 19 wins for the franchise record.

The NL East is ultra-competitive because it has the Atlanta Braves.

That automatically makes it a tough division, and the Phillies’ 19-10 record is good enough for second place behind the Braves, who are 19-7.

The season is young, though, and Philadelphia has the resources to keep up with Atlanta if some things break their way.

So far, they appear to be enjoying breakout performances from Alec Bohm (17 extra-base hits, 1.056 OPS) and Ranger Suarez (1.32 ERA in 41 innings), in addition to the usual great output of their stars: Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, J.T. Realmuto, Zack Wheeler, Aaron Nola, and others.

These year’s Phillies appear poised to show they can also win 100 games in the regular season.
