Nick Kyrgios wrote a heartfelt message to Naomi Osaka ahead of her anticipated comeback in the 2024 season.
Nick Kyrgios is currently away from tennis and is working on his own tennis comeback, which doesn’t really have a clear timeline. Things are much clearer for Osaka, who will be making her return in less than 30 days in the country that Kyrgios calls home.
She has been diligently preparing for her tennis comeback for weeks. The Japanese player is back home in Los Angeles preparing for the event, and that’s where Kyrgios has been recently, too.
He worked for the Tennis Channel during the ATP Finals, with the company being based out of California. The Australian stopped by Osaka to see what was up and shared an encouraging message for her on social media with an accompanying photo of himself talking to Osaka at her house.
The best part of journey is realising that we can all learn something from someone. Will be following and supporting your comeback @naomiosaka !! Happy to help anytime. The whole Kyrgios team is behind you.
The relationship between Kyrgios and Osaka goes back a few years, as they’re both fans of each other’s games and have joined forces in many ways. The Australian also played a lot of trust in Osaka when he signed with her newly established agency, Evolve.
He’s got a comeback of his own to work on, but it was nice of him to stop by and give Osaka a pep talk during what must be a pretty tricky time for her. He’s been very complimentary to her in the past as a role model for many who look up to her.
Naomi, I love what she brings to the sport. I think she’s an amazing athlete. She can play some great tennis, but what she can do off the court is even more inspirational. She has so many people looking up to her. She inspires millions of people and I think that’s something that I bring, as well.
