Manchester United has expressed interest in acquiring Alejandro Balde, the Barcelona defender, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, the team faces stiff competition from Liverpool, leaving the outcome of the potential transfer uncertain.
Barcelona May Be Willing to Sell Balde
As reported by TEAMtalk, Barcelona is aiming to generate funds and would entertain significant offers for the 22-year-old full-back. An offer of approximately £43 million could secure his transfer. Manchester United is in need of additional depth in their full-back positions, and Balde is seen as a fitting candidate.
Balde is a promising young talent with the necessary skills to succeed in the Premier League. Nevertheless, he is also eager to continue his career at Barcelona and compete for a spot on the roster. It remains unclear if the Spanish club will opt to sell him.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is monitoring Balde’s situation as well. With Andrew Robertson set to depart the club at the end of the season, they may seek to bolster their squad in that position. The 22-year-old could be an excellent addition for them.
Balde’s Asking Price Could Be a Hurdle
The £43 million price tag might appear steep given that both Manchester United and Liverpool aim to improve in several areas this summer. Whether they will pay this amount for Balde is yet to be determined.
There is no denying that the young defender possesses the attributes necessary to excel in English football, making him a potentially valuable long-term investment for either club. His capabilities as a dependable defender who contributes to the offensive side of the game have already been demonstrated.
Additionally, Balde has garnered interest from Manchester City.
