Crvena Zvezda president Nebojsa Covic commented on Nemanja Bjelica. Although Fenerbahce Beko coach Dimitris Itoudis claimed that the former EuroLeague MVP is associated with Zvezda after their EuroLeague game, the Red Star boss refuted this assertion.
“He is officially under contract with Fenerbahçe, the club has certain obligations towards him,” Covic said. “Bjelica came, and signed a contract with us. That contract was terminated by mutual agreement. Zvezda did not pay Bjelica anything, nor did he ask us for anything.
“He can return to Zvezda whenever he feels like playing again. Anything else I could say would be to his detriment. Not in the relationship with Zvezda, but you should understand that Fenerbahçe has certain obligations towards him and should fulfill them.”
