Will Arsenal Offload Gyokeres?
An insider revealed on social media that the Gunners are open to transactions involving the 27-year-old player, just a year after his arrival.
The individual stated: “Arsenal are open to listening to any offers for Viktor Gyökeres this summer.”
Despite an encouraging season so far, club officials are reportedly questioning whether Gyokeres aligns with Arteta’s long-term vision for the team.
Additionally, there are rumors linking the club to possible replacements for Gyokeres.
Gyokeres’ First Season with Arsenal
Gyökeres finalized his move to Arsenal last summer after an extended pursuit for a new striker, switching from Sporting CP for a considerable transfer fee.
Although his performance does not match the outstanding numbers from his time in the Primeira Liga, his first season in the Premier League has been respectable.
He has scored 18 goals in 48 matches across all competitions.
While these figures are commendable for a debut season in such a competitive league, they are below the high expectations set for him. This might be influenced by Arteta’s conservative tactical approach.
