Having lost the first leg of the tie 2-0 away from home, Liverpool aimed to overturn their deficit, but the reigning champions managed to maintain control at Anfield and progressed to the semifinals comfortably.
Liverpool’s Attack Lacks Precision
Despite a commendable effort from Liverpool throughout the match, they lacked the necessary sharpness in the attack. Although they exerted considerable pressure on PSG, creating scoring chances proved to be elusive.
Former Premier League player Alan Shearer pointed out that the missing element was the crucial quality needed just outside the penalty area, which distinguished the two teams.
After a challenging match, PSG broke the deadlock midway through the second half when Ousmane Dembele scored with a shot from distance.
