Concerns are growing for Arsenal regarding Gabriel Martinelli’s future, as the Brazilian winger’s contract is set to expire in a year. The 24-year-old has caught the attention of Barcelona, and reports suggest he could be available for around €50 million this summer, according to Spanish media outlet Fichajes.

The situation around Martinelli is uncertain, but Fichajes indicates that the Gunners are increasingly worried. Losing Martinelli without a transfer fee would be a significant setback for Arsenal, although they may hesitate to offer a new deal given his inconsistent form this season.

Arsenal’s Winger Contract Update

As noted by Transfermarkt, Martinelli’s contract extends until 2027 with an option to extend for an additional year. This might be a viable option for Arsenal, yet they could also consider selling him now if Barcelona shows genuine interest.

To strengthen their position, Arsenal may need to reinforce their attack this summer, as Martinelli has struggled to maintain consistent performance in the Premier League, netting only one goal in the league but managing six goals in the Champions League and four in the FA Cup.

Potential Replacement for Barcelona

With the possibility of loaned player Marcus Rashford leaving Barcelona, Martinelli could serve as an ideal replacement, capable of filling roles on the left wing or up front.

It would be strategic for Arsenal to capitalize on this scenario and potentially secure €50 million for Martinelli while the opportunity exists. Such funds could significantly aid in acquiring more impactful signings during the summer transfer window.
