Arsenal’s Hopes for Kvaratskhelia Dashed
David Ornstein, a notable journalist, has put a definitive end to Arsenal’s ambitions of signing PSG’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. He stated there is “no chance” that the Gunners will land the talented winger.
During a Q&A session on The Athletic website, Ornstein discussed the mounting rumors connecting Kvaratskhelia to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Kvaratskhelia Set to Remain at PSG
As Arsenal looks to enhance their attacking lineup after a season that included a run to the Champions League semi-finals and a strong challenge for the Premier League title, any move for the Georgian international appears out of reach.
Ornstein remarked, “Everyone loves Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but I fully expect him to stay at PSG.” This statement dampens the enthusiasm of Arsenal fans who had hoped for his arrival.
He continued, “He seems very happy at PSG, and they are thrilled with him. I don’t think Arsenal or anyone else stands a chance at this moment.”
This news is disheartening for supporters who believed Kvaratskhelia could be the final piece in Arteta’s attacking lineup.
Since his transfer from Napoli to PSG in January 2025 for €80 million, Kvaratskhelia has become an essential player for manager Luis Enrique. His remarkable skills were evident during the Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool, where he scored in the first leg, contributing to a significant win.
Interest from Premier League Clubs
Arsenal is not the only Premier League team interested in Kvaratskhelia. Liverpool has been a long-time admirer and previously looked to snatch him away just before his move to Paris.
Ben Jacobs has recently reported that the Reds still hold a strong admiration for the 25-year-old winger.
Chelsea has also shown interest, with reports indicating that the Blues are preparing a substantial offer for the Georgian star.
