PSG and Barcelona Show Interest in Crystal Palace’s Jaydee Canvot
Crystal Palace defender Jaydee Canvot is attracting transfer attention from both Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.
The 19-year-old joined the Eagles on the final day of last summer’s transfer window, shortly before Marc Guehi’s transfer to Liverpool was halted.
Guehi eventually moved to Manchester City in January, but Canvot has established himself as an important player for Palace as they approach tonight’s Conference League final.
Interest from Top European Clubs
As reported by L’Equipe, PSG and Barcelona have their sights set on Canvot, who is under contract at Palace until 2029. The reigning Champions League holders have been monitoring him since his exit from Toulouse last year, while Barcelona’s interest grew due to his impressive performances in Europe this season.
However, it appears that their interest has not yet led to any formal offers.
Palace Aims to Retain Canvot
Canvot’s journey at Palace began with a rough start, highlighted by a mistake in a home loss to AEK Larnaca seven months ago. Since then, he has bounced back, earning praise for a strong showing in the Carabao Cup victory against Liverpool just a week later.
Though he has made only 14 Premier League starts to date, Canvot has been a key player in the knockout stages of the Conference League and is expected to play in the final against Rayo Vallecano this evening.
The interest from clubs like PSG and Barcelona underscores his impressive form at Selhurst Park, and he, along with teammate Jean-Philippe Mateta, could be potential summer transfer targets for top clubs in Europe.
With three years remaining on his contract, Palace is not under significant pressure to sell Canvot. A strong squad will be imperative if they secure a victory in the Conference League tonight, as it would pave the way for another European campaign in 2026/27.
While the Eagles have regularly sold star players like Guehi and Eberechi Eze, they will be keen to keep the talented young French centre-back for the foreseeable future.
