Injury Update Ahead of Arsenal’s Clash with Manchester City
Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta, shared an update on player injuries as his team prepares for a crucial match against Manchester City this weekend.
The encounter at the Etihad Stadium is being viewed by many as pivotal in the Premier League title race, with high stakes for both teams involved. However, Arteta confirmed that Bukayo Saka will miss the match due to injury.
Arteta’s press conference today included updates on other players as well. He expressed hope for Martin Odegaard and Jurrien Timber, who may still have a chance of playing.
During the conference, Arteta said: “We have another session tomorrow. It didn’t look that bad after the game, I’m hoping he (Madueke) could be available.” Regarding Saka, he confirmed, “Bukayo is out, that’s for sure. He’s just starting to do some stuff, but at the moment he’s not available.”
Potential Player Availability
On a more positive note, Arteta indicated that Noni Madueke might be a candidate to step in for Saka. He mentioned, “We will try again. Some players are quite close. We will try tomorrow to push everybody,” when discussing the situation with Odegaard, Timber, and another player, Riccardo Calafiori.
Manchester City Injury Concerns
Meanwhile, Manchester City has also been dealing with injuries, although their situation appears less dire than Arsenal’s. Ruben Dias is ruled out of the match against Arsenal, while Nico O’Reilly is back in the squad. However, Josko Gvardiol and John Stones remain unavailable due to long-term injuries.
This upcoming match promises to be intense, and many are eager to see how each team will set up tactically and who will come out closer to clinching the title.
