New York Giants‘ new quarterback Tommy DeVito and his story have taken the NFL world by storm. Not so much for his play but for his upfront and honest response to his current living situation. When asked, DeVito let the world know unapologetically that he still lives with his parents at home despite being a starting NFL quarterback.
Who doesn’t want to have homemade chicken cutlets, a freshly made bed, and their laundry done? His response was funny, authentic, and real. And for that peak behind the curtain of a young rookie QB’s life in the NFL, the world wants to know more.

Where Is Tommy DeVito From?
DeVito was born on Aug. 7, 1998, and grew up in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. To begin his road to the NFL, he attended New Jersey high school powerhouse Don Bosco Prep.
DeVito was a highly recruited high school QB who competed in the Elite 11 quarterback competition as well as playing in the Under Armour All-American Game his senior year.
DeVito’s College Career
At the end of his junior year, DeVito committed to play college football at Syracuse University over other offers from Yale, Boston College, Penn, Rutgers, Maryland, and Temple.
In his first season at Syracuse, he redshirted and didn’t see any action, but that changed the following year. In his second season on campus, DeVito was still a backup but played in eight games off the bench and completed 44 of 87 passes for 525 yards and four touchdowns.

Eventually, DeVito saw his playing time increase over the next three seasons, where he started 18 games and made 26 appearances during his time with the Orangemen. However, in his final year of eligibility, DeVito was set to lose his starting role to transfer Garrett Shrader.
As a result, DeVito finished his college career at the University of Illinois, where he started 13 games and finished the year 8-5.
DeVito’s NFL Chance
DeVito entered this year’s NFL Draft at the conclusion of his college eligibility but went undrafted. Despite not being selected in the draft, he still had options to start his NFL career as an undrafted free agent.
DeVito opted to stay home and sign with a Giants team he rooted for growing up over some other options around the league. Since joining the Giants as a rookie, DeVito has appeared in four games, including two starts. He’s gone 1-1 in those outings.
