Unai Emery’s Aston Villa is targeting Barcelona’s versatile player, Ferran Torres. Despite being a key figure in Barcelona’s first team, discussions about his future are on the rise. With his contract entering its final year, the Catalan club may consider transferring him, especially with Aston Villa showing interest.
Additionally, Manchester United has also been mentioned as a potential suitor for Torres, and Arsenal is exploring the possibility of signing him as well.
Aston Villa Prepares €65 Million Bid for Torres
As reported by Fichajes, Aston Villa aims to enhance their offensive capabilities and sees Ferran Torres as an ideal addition. They are expected to make a €65 million offer for the Spanish international.
Since joining Barcelona in 2022, Torres has become an essential part of Hansi Flick’s squad, although he often finds himself on the bench. A transfer could provide him with a more significant role.
Having played 46 matches and accumulated 2,504 minutes on the pitch, the 26-year-old has netted 20 goals and contributed two assists. While he typically prefers a central position, he is capable of taking on various roles in the attack.
Previously, Torres had a stint in the Premier League with Manchester City, where he secured the league title in the 2020/21 season.
Barcelona’s Stance on Torres’ Future
Barcelona is poised to assess any offers for Torres carefully due to his importance in the squad. They will consider transferring him only if it leads to an improvement in their team, allowing for new signings funded by his sale.
In addition to Aston Villa, AC Milan has expressed interest, proposing a loan arrangement with a mandatory purchase clause and a substantial percentage of future sales. This offer appears to be more appealing to both Barcelona and Torres, despite Aston Villa’s willingness to invest heavily in him.
