The extra rest might benefit Cheshire Phoenix as they look for a hat-trick of wins ahead of Sunday’s British Basketball League clash against Leicester Riders.
However the visiting Riders are aiming to bounce back from Friday’s loss to the London Lions and will be motivated going into their trip to the North-West.
Form though is not on Leicester’s side as they have already suffered two losses to the Phoenix this season.
An opening day 110-86 blowout at Morningside Arena was followed by a 102-96 loss on November 12 in Ellesmere Port.
Will form be a factor?
Along with their two losses in the British Basketball League, Leicester head to Cheshire in unfamiliar territory.
Rob Paternostro’s men have lost four of their last five matches with the only success being a 94-79 home win against the Manchester Giants.
It’s a vastly different squad and adjustments have been made in recent weeks with the addition of Sesan Russell, so you could forgive the Riders that they still need to gel as a unit.
However when you back someone into a corner, they will have no choice but to fight back. Could this be the game where Leicester wake up from their slumber and get back to winning ways.
Jack and Rai
Cheshire have found themselves their dynamic duo that are in the top ten for scoring this season in Maceo Jack and Aaryn Rai.
Jack leads the team, averaging 18.1 points a game with Rai not far behind on 17.1.
They will look to continue where they left off against Leicester on Sunday.
